About Me

Dr. TaTanisha Parker, LPC-S, NCC, CSC

As a Psychotherapist, I empower individuals, couples, or families to overcome personal obstacles to improve their lives. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) in the state of Texas and a Board-Certified National Counselor (NCC). I have also been a Certified School Counselor (CSC) for over 18 years. I earned a Doctorate of Counselor Education and I hold multiple certifications in various areas of counseling. I am an active member of various professional organizations such as Texas Counseling Association and Texas Council on Family Violence. I have served as a presenter at the Texas Counseling Association Conference to provide information on Teen Dating Violence and Cyber-bullying.

I graduated from Texas Southern University where I earned a doctorate and master’s degree in Counselor Education. I also earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology from University of Houston. I continue to educate myself by attending national and local conferences, keeping up with current therapy research and consulting with my peers.

The approach I primarily use is Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Brief Solution Focused Therapy to assist individuals in recognizing how their thoughts and feelings can influence their behavior.  I use a variety of techniques to provide an interactive and enjoyable therapeutic experience. I provide clients with tailored treatment plans that can be integrated into their daily lives. I prescribe to a strength-based perspective which means working together to find past and present successes and using these to address the challenges currently being faced.

I work with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues providing services that span from therapy for depression and grief counseling to parenting support, couples counseling and beyond. In a comfortable and supportive atmosphere, I offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each of my clients individual needs to help attain the personal growth they’re striving for.

My goal is to provide you with excellent therapeutic services in a warm and supportive environment. If you’re seeking support and guidance through a challenging situation or you’re ready to move in a new direction, I look forward to working with you to help you achieve your goals. Please call us for an individual, couples, or family psychotherapy session.
